Man stabs attacking pit bull in City Heights

CALIFORNIA -- Officials say a man walking his dog on the streets of San Diego stabbed a pit bull to death after the animal attacked him.

to press charges, allowing the pit bull owners to get
off scott-free from accepting responsibility

U-T San Diego reports Monday that the man was walking in the City Heights neighborhood when the dog came at him Sunday night.

The owner complains that his pit bull was only 'defending
itself' despite it having escaped from its patio and
running at large AND attacking the other dog

County animal services Lt. Dan DeSousa says the pit bull retreated to its home, where the owner took the dog to a veterinarian's office. The dog died there.

The victim and his dog suffered only minor bites, and he declined to file charges against the dog's owner.

[Brilliant. Yes, don't bother pressing charges. Now, they can freely go get a replacement dog and repeat this whole horrible incident with some other victim. Good job.]
