Animal cruelty suspects plead no contest

MICHIGAN -- Two women charged with animal cruelty pled no contest Friday in Dickinson County District Court.  Sisters Joan Khoury and Kathy Khoury each face four counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals at two locations.

The case involved more than 60 animals, including 30 horses.  Each count carries up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000.

The pair will be back in court for sentencing on November 1.
