Erie police search for dog in attack on 2 people

PENNSYLVANIA -- Two people were taken to the hospital today after they were attacked by a pair of pit bulls on Erie's west side.

The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. in the area of West 29th and Maple streets, said Rob Culbertson, Erie's animal control officer. Officers who responded put down one of the dogs, but the other ran off, Culbertson said.

Erie police are searching the area for the dog.

The extent of the victims' injuries was not available.
