NEW YORK -- A Glens Falls man who allegedly abandoned two dogs and five cats in his former apartment has been charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty, according to police.
Aaron M. Beagle, 19, was arrested after Glens Falls Police and the SPCA of Upstate New York were contacted earlier this month about pets left behind at 7 Culvert Street when a tenant moved out, officials said.
Beagle told authorities he had been going to the home to provide food and water, but police determined at least one of the animals was in need of medical care that was not being provided, Glens Falls Police Sgt. Keith Knoop said.
Beagle was charged Monday and released pending prosecution in City Court. The arrest was made by Glens Falls Police Officer Nate Baker.
