UNITED KINGDOM -- A springer spaniel was nearly killed after it was savaged by a Rottweiler near Worthing seafront.
Laura Burkett, of Navarino Road, East Worthing, was crossing the road at Marine Parade with dog Solo when two men and their Rottweiler approached. Without warning, she said the larger dog set upon the nine-year-old springer spaniel and “locked its jaws”.
Laura, 55, then desperately attempted to free her pet from the clutches of the animal.
She said: “The Rottweiler turned around and grabbed my dog. Its jaws locked and I couldn’t get it off. I was screaming Marine Parade down. I didn’t know what to do.”
The Rottweiler threw Solo into the air while Laura gripped tightly on to her pet’s lead.
