Puppy dies, other recovering after pit bull attack
FLORIDA -- A South Florida dog owner jumped into action after two pit bulls attacked her small dogs.
"It looked like a murder scene," John said, describing the scene he came home to last Sunday night.
He said his girlfriend took the dogs outside as she normally does, when two pit bulls broke into a hole from his fence and attacked the two small dogs. "They muscled their way in through that hole there, which then came through here and got a hold of one of the dogs," said John.
The dogs, Murphy and Bailey, were attacked by the pit bulls. Bailey died but Murphy was rushed to an animal hospital.
"When I opened her up, we took the sterol packs, and I looked right into her heart beat, and that's how big the wound was," said a doctor.
The dog owner said she tried to break the fight up, but the vicious dogs attacked her.
The owner of the pit bulls did not want to comment on the situation. John said he at least deserves an apology. "I did not get an apology, nothing," he said.
Murphy remains in the hospital recovering from his injuries.
Broward Animal Control has quarantined the pit bulls for 10 days while they investigate.
The dog owner has hired an attorney.
