12 cats, 3 dogs found in Sherry Arther's filthy home

FLORIDA -- A woman accused of hoarding animals in her Seminole County home is now out of jail.

Sherry Arther, 54, of Sanford bonded out of jail overnight. She faces animal cruelty charges.

Animal control took 12 cats and three dogs from a house on Summerlin Avenue Tuesday.

Officers said there was pet waste everywhere inside the home and that one cat had something wrong with its eyes.

Police said they noticed something was wrong before going inside the home.

"You didn't have to walk in, the door was open and the odor was coming out. The two people who were there said this was just a pretty disgusting house," said Sanford Police Department Lt. James McAuliffe.

Arther was arrested on similar charged in 2008, but they were later dropped.
