8-Year-Old Left With Serious Injuries To Skull After Pit Bull Attack

WASHINGTON -- It was Wednesday afternoon around three just outside Tum Tum when four pit bulls attacked an eight year old boy. Now, the mother says her son is left with serious injuries to his skull, but the only thing that is required of the pit bulls is that they be chained up for ten days.

Kristina Snyder recalls the scary scene when they were just trying to help a friend and their boy got attacked.

"They just came out of no where after we brought my car down the hill after trying to help somebody," Snyder said. "My middle son started screaming and evidently my older son pushed my younger son out of the way and a mama and her three pups mauled my son."

KHQ doctored the photo of Caden, but he has dozens of stitches on his skull and half of his hair is shaved. Snyder's fiance believes the pit bulls are on horse steroids and should be euthanized, but again, they will only have to be chained up for ten days after this incident.

Earlier Story:

An eight year old boy is recovering tonight after four pit bulls attacked him in Stevens County near Tum Tum. It happened about three o clock just off Highway 291. A mother pit bull and her three little ones attacked the boy as the kid was at a home down the road. Emergency responders responded as soon as they could but because the home was in such a rural location it took a while to get there.

In the meantime the parents of the boy took him to a neighbor house who used to be an EMT. The EMT helped the kid until the actual emergency responders were able to get there. The neighbor KHQ Local News spoke with told us the boy has serious injuries to his skull and is currently at Sacred Heart Medical Center.
