Employee injured in dog attack at boarding kennel

COLORADO -- An employee at Central Bark Dog Daycare, on North Nevada Avenue near Austin Bluffs Parkway, was bitten and injured by an abandoned dog that had been taken in by the daycare owner, according to an officer with the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.

The attack, which happened around 9:00, sent the victim to the hospital with "pretty bad" bites to the thigh and shin, the officer said.

The dog, a neutered Pit Bull, will be taken to the Humane Society and quarantined as a precaution, according to the officer.
