OHIO -- A local woman told police Wednesday she received nine stitches in her chin Sunday after a dog bit her.
The dog, a light brown boxer named Rayce, bit the woman at a residence in the 1000 block of Burgoon Street.
While at the owner’s house, the woman got up at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday to use the restroom. She then sat down on the couch, where the dog was sleeping, according to a report by the Sandusky County Health Department.
The dog’s owner said the woman sat on a paw that had a broken nail, according to the report. That startled the dog, and the dog bit the woman’s face.
The animal was immunized after the incident and will be quarantined for the mandatory 10-day period.
The bite appeared to be accidental and the dog will not be euthanized, according to a Sandusky County Dog Warden representative.
