Dogs attack, kill 2 goats in Pasadena

MARYLAND -- The owner of two goats told police his animals were killed by two dogs.

Anne Arundel County police said officers were called in the 800 block of Woods Road in Pasadena where officers found the 2-year-old Siberian Husky dead. Police learned that the dog and a German Shepherd-Husky mix entered a fenced in goat pen on the property, chased, attacked and killed two goats.

The owner of the goats called a neighbor for help as the animals were being attacked. The neighbor came to the backyard of the residence where he attempted to stop the attack, police said.

The dogs turned and charged at the neighbor, who shot both dogs.

The owner of the dead Husky was notified of the incident and the dog had no prior incident history with Animal Control, police said. It is believed that the Husky escaped its property underneath a fence before making its way onto the farm property, where the attack took place.

Animal Control is continuing the investigation and is attempting to locate the second dog and that dog’s owner.

The firearm believed to have been used during the incident was recovered by police and they said they are verifying whether the owners had legal authority to own the weapon.

Anyone with information on this incident or the whereabouts of the second dog or its owners is asked to contact Anne Arundel County Animal Control at 410-222-8900.
