MICHIGAN -- Michigan State Police say they’re investigating an animal cruelty case discovered last night in Coldwater Township.
A trooper running radar said he was contacted by someone who reported that a horse and a cow were dumped on his property in a field near the intersection of Hurley and Hodunk Roads.
The officer discovered a black goat and a starved horse, light brown in color with a distinctive blond mane. The horse had not been shod and according to the trooper, appeared to have been drugged or laid in the mud prior to being moved to where it was found.
The animals were originally located by a neighbor who was walking her dogs through the field and they figured they hadn’t been dead for more than 24 hours.
Anyone with information should contact State Police at the Coldwater Post.
