Thomas J. Newell, who has offices in the Lehigh Valley, has handled numerous cases throughout Pennsylvania involving pit bulls.
Jesberger, her father, Bill Tittel, and their dog, Oreo, were attacked by a loose pit bull on Feb. 4 in their Pearl Avenue neighborhood.
Jesberger and her father were bruised and battered and their 6-year-old cockapoo underwent four hours of emergency surgery after suffering a torn throat, puncture wounds and a broken jaw in the attack.
Salisbury Township police shot and killed the pit bull after it lunged at them.
Police, who have not released the name of the pit bull owner, are still investigating the case and charges are pending.
Jesperger said she was touched today when she received a care package from a stranger and her two dogs, Colby and Daisy Mae, that included treats and a squeaky toy for Oreo. The woman had read about the attack and said they were concerned.
"There are some good people in the world," Jesberger said.
