TEXAS -- A two-year-old girl was sent to the hospital Saturday with non life-threatening injuries after she was bit on the face by a pit bull at a Bryan home, police said.
Sergeant Dennis Thane said the girl was with family members visiting the dog owner when the incident occurred just after 3 p.m.
Thane said the visitors to the home, including the girl, were trying to get a look at the litter of puppies when the mother of the newborns became defensive and bit the 2-year-old on the lip.
The girl was transported to St. Joseph hospital with minor injuries, Thane said, and the dog was secured inside the home.
