IOWA -- Three criminal citations have been issued against the owner of a pit bull that allegedly attacked four people last weekend in Mason City.
The dog’s owner, Valentine Louie Flores, 37, 17 Ninth St. N.W., was cited for a vicious animal, animal at large and not having a current city animal license, according to a news release from the Mason City Police Department.
The March 2 incident happened at the Flores address.
The four victims were all either relatives or acquaintances of the Flores family. They were taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa for treatment.
All the charges are simple misdemeanors.
The dog is a tan-colored male pit bull. It is confined and under quarantine.
Police remind pet owners that they are responsible for their pets and their pet’s behavior.
According to police, the dog bit at least one other Flores’ relative while at large on Feb. 21 at or near the same location.
