On Feb. 24, the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of a dead dog found in the bedroom of a house at 1831 Slate Hill Road in Mooresburg that been sold recently at public auction.

The buyer told the HCSO that the previous occupant, William Charles Harville, 48, 355 Sanita Village, Bean Station, had left or abandoned the residence three to four months before she purchased the property.
HCSO Deputy Jeremy Nash stated in the arrest warrant affidavit he had contact with Harville earlier in 2012, and knew that 1831 Slate Hill Road was his personal residence for the time period that the dog was left there.
“Based on this information, (the previous owner’s) actions or lack of actions resulted in the inhumane treatment, and ultimately the death of the animal,” Nash added.
