OREGON -- Polk County sheriff's deputies have seized nine neglected horses from a small farm where three people were arrested on charges of animal neglect in February.
Sgt. Mark Garton said Friday that the district attorney's office plans to file new charges against the same people — 61-year-old Patricia Hill, 36-year-old Trina Perrault and 31-year-old Christopher Perrault.
The trio pleaded guilty after the February incident and entered into a diversion agreement in which they were required to adequately care for their horses.
But Garton says deputies assessed the horses in a follow-up visit to the farm outside Dallas and found them to be dehydrated and malnourished.
The seized horses were taken to a rescue facility in Yamhill County.
