KENTUCKY -- Richmond police ticketed a woman for harboring a vicious animal after her dog bit a small child.
About noon Thursday, a parent of a 2-year-old boy told an officer that her child had been bitten in the face by a pit bull owned by Billie J. Martin, police said. The child had a significant cut on the side of his head.
Martin, 29, of Race Street, was visiting someone on Sizemore Drive at the time of the alleged attack but had left before police arrived, police said.
Martin was later found at home, police said. She was ticketed and was ordered to quarantine the dog pending further action by the health department and the courts.
The boy was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital for treatment and possible surgery, police said.
