UTAH -- Salt Lake City police say a woman who killed her dog with a can of Raid bug spray has been jailed on suspicion of animal cruelty.
Authorities say they responded to South Emery Street a little after noon on Saturday and found that the 43-year-old woman had killed the dog.
After finding the dog's body in a Dumpster, detectives interviewed Davis. She told them she sprayed Raid down the dog's throat
Police say they suspected the woman was having a mental health crisis, and called the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team to evaluate her condition.
The woman, Kimberly Michelle Davis, 53, was arrested for investigation of felony cruelty to animals.
