Woman who starved dogs and threw one, dying, into a dumpster gets probation

MISSOURI -- Probation has been ordered for a St. Louis woman who pleaded guilty to two counts of animal abuse in connection to an incident in 2011.

23 year old Cennitra Fowler was also ordered to take animal care classes presented by Stray Rescue of St. Louis, as well as a donation to the Humane Society. Fowler is also forbidden to own, adopt, or care for any animal while serving her probation period.

Fowler was arrested after a city wide animal cruelty task force learned of Fowlers dogs starving and dying in the basement of a home.

When investigators arrived, one of the dogs was barely alive and tossed into a trash dumpster.

The second dog was brought out of the home by Fowler and turned over to Stray Rescue founder Randy.

The dogs, named Our Little Boy and Our Little Girl by rescuers were taken for treatment. The male dog, found in the dumpster died. The female dog was later adopted by a woman who renamed the dog Olivia and created a Facebook page for her new companion.
