Woman's dog attacked in Whitton Deane

UNITED KINGDOM -- The owner of a dog savaged by another in Whitton is warning people to look out for the animal and its owner.

Paula Hennesey was out with her sausage dog Angus on Whitton Deane when he was attacked by what she thought looked like a Staffordshire terrier.

She said: “I went through the gate and as far as I was concerned there was no one in there. I unclipped my dog’s lead and then heard a voice shout ‘get out of here’.

“Before I could do anything I saw this dog charging towards Angus and it took a big chunk out of his leg. The owner obviously knew the dog was dangerous as he shouted for me to get out.”

Following the incident on May 22, Mrs Hennesey is now hoping to alert other dog owners of the attack in the hope to prevent a similar incident.

She said: “I was just so angry about it because quite often you see kids in there. If I hadn’t picked Angus up he would’ve killed him for sure.”

Angus is now on the mend, after having treatment that cost £611.
