Authorities Arrest Suspects Featured As Animal Cruelty 'Dirty Dozen'

OHIO -- Columbus officials say they have arrested five people wanted on animal cruelty charges and another person has turned herself in.

Last week, the office released a list of its "Dirty Dozen" animal cruelty suspects. Since then, three have been arrested and two have turned themselves in.

Sandra Fay Greene, 44 turned herself in on Friday and was arrested.

Shannon M. Robinson was taken into custody on Thursday. Robinson had a warrant issued for violating her probation.

She was originally charged after humane agents found three dogs and 16 cats in her house with trash piled more than 4 feet high in places, according to authorities.

Children Services launched an investigation against Robinson since her seven children were also living in the house under the same conditions which officials called "unfit for human habitation."

Mary Clements and Samuel J. Pineda were arrested earlier this week, and Ashley A. Ruddy turned herself over to authorities.

"The Capital Area Humane Society built the cases, then the media coverage led to tips from the public, which helped Columbus police make three of what we hope will be several more arrests," said City Attorney Richard C Pfeiffer, Jr. in a news release.
