Six-year-old Chivonne Worthey had just given her babysitter a hug. That's when officials say the sitter's dog came at her.
The pit bull mix bit Worthey's back, nearly puncturing a lung. The attack left scratches across her body and mangled her arm, leaving gashes down to the bone.
The babysitter jumped on top of the little girl trying to fend off the dog and ended up in the hospital with dozens of stitches herself.
When the attack happened, Chivonne's father was recovering from surgery himself. It'll be months of recovery for her and a lot of steep expenses for the family.
