Cumbrian man has fingers sewn back on after dog attack

UNITED KINGDOM -- Police are investigating a dog attack which left an 80-year-man needing emergency treatment to sew his fingers back on.

Don Shaw, of Main Road, Flimby, was walking his shih tzu dog Harvey when another flew at it.


He said: “I tried to get him off but he grabbed hold of my hand.”

Mr Shaw said he was bitten by a pit bull - greyhound cross.

“Two men appeared,” he said. “One managed to get the pit bull off me and they ran off.”

Two of his fingers had to be sewn back on.

PC Paul McConaghy confirmed police were taking action over the incident.
