Dog killed by Macon police after attacking officer

GEORGIA -- Macon police fatally shot a dog Friday night at Bowden and Knot streets after the dog attacked an officer, according to a police report released Monday.

According to the report, officers were in the area looking for a suspect. When they approached a house, a pit bull attacked one of the officers. The officer who was attacked fired two shots, hitting the dog once, and another officer fired one shot, the report states.

Neither officer was injured.
