Pit bull attack leads to two arrests

ARIZONA -- A Bullhead City man was arrested last week in the 1800 block of Montclair Drive after police and animal control responded to the area for a report of a dog attack.

According to Bullhead City Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt, a 65-year-old woman had been out for a walk when a pit bull pushed through a gate at a residence on Montclair Drive and attacked her.

Another pit bull from the same residence came out during the incident and got in on the attack, biting the victim on several parts of her body.

“The victim was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center for her injuries while both police and an animal control officer responded to the residence of where the pit bulls came from,” said Fromelt.

Police spoke with the dog owners, Jason Richard Corbitt, 32, and Linda Danielle Corbitt De La Osa, 32, and during the course of the investigation Jason Corbitt allegedly became irate and began yelling obscenities at the animal control officer while they were writing a citation for the animal problem.

“Jason Corbitt was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct due to his behavior in a public neighborhood,” said Fromelt. “He continued to be very disruptive while in custody, was very uncooperative and aggressive toward officers.”

He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman on suspicion of the above charges. The two pit bulls were seized from the owners and will be placed on an automatic quarantine hold. Linda Corbitt De La Osa and her husband were also cited for allowing a dog to run at large and not having a required dog license.
