Ohio couple found guilty of starving their horse to death

OHIO -- State v. Vincent and Catherine Baucom, Sylvania Municipal Court, a case we prosecuted for Toledo Area Humane Society.

Each Defendant was charged with animal cruelty related to the neglect of three horses and a pony, and one count of permitting a horse to run at large. The equines were emaciated.

Isn't it amazing what just a little bit of FOOD will do to improve a
starving animal? But, of course, the owners insist they feed them "all the time"

The horse at large was struck by a car and killed.

The Defendants pled no contest and were found guilty of two counts of animal cruelty in violation of ORC 959.13(A)(1).

Here is a "happy ever after" before and after picture of one of the horses, nursed back to health by Wyandot County Humane Society.
