UNITED KINGDOM -- A rottweiler that attacked another dog will return home to its owner.
Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court heard the rottweiler, called Brandy, caused severe injuries to the other dog, which had to undergo treatment costing more than £1,000.
Brandy’s owner, Robbie Deacon, 31, of Hanworth Road, Hampton, appeared in court charged with a dangerous dog complaint on Monday, July 22.
Detective Sergeant John Turner, representing the prosecution, told the court Brandy ran out of the front door and attacked the dog, which was across the road with its owner.
The court ordered Brandy to be muzzled at all times in public, to be on a lead and with a person older than 16 at all times in public and for fencing to be installed.
Det Sgt Turner said: “To prevent further attacks like this happening and to ensure safety measures are in place.
“I have no reason to apply for the dog to be put down or destroyed. I am quite happy for it to go back to its owner.”
Mr Deacon, who owns a further two other dogs, told the court he had already installed a fence and agreed to the other measures.
The court heard Brandy would be returned home as soon as possible.
