MISSOURI -- A Chillicothe man was cited for 18 acts of animal cruelty and neglect after officers discovered several animals in "critically poor health conditions" Tuesday.
James Venneman was cited for the multiple inhumane acts after officers with the Chillicothe Police Department responded to a residence in the 400 block of Elm Street. Police discovered that multiple animals at the residence did not have adequate food or water for the weather conditions, said Sgt. Johnny Palmer.
After Mr. Venneman was cited for the infractions, authorities removed 16 rabbits and one dog from the home.
