Dog attack victim pulls out gun, shoots pit bull

TEXAS -- A man opened fire on a pit bull after he said he was bit while walking to his apartment in southwest Houston on Wednesday night.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. at the Meadows Southwest apartments on South Drive, Houston police said.

According to police, the dog somehow got out of a tenant’s apartment and allegedly attacked the victim as he walked by. Police said the man pulled a gun and shot the dog.

The dog survived and was taken to the vet by its owner. The bite victim was sent to the hospital by ambulance to be treated.

Police would not say if anyone would face charges over the incident.
