Elderly woman's dog attacked

OHIO -- A pit bull attacked a deaf 78-year-old woman’s Yorkshire Terrier on Monday, police said.

Reports say the pit bull belonged to a neighbor’s son and mauled the terrier at about 10:30 a.m. Monday in the 3000 block of Bon Air Street N.W., causing severe injuries.

The terrier suffered crushed ribs and spine damage and was taken to a veterinarian, reports say.

The woman’s daughter called police and said her mother was deaf and couldn’t file the report herself.

The woman also told police it was the third time the pit bull attacked her mother and her mother’s dog.

The next door neighbor told police the dog has attacked the 78-year-old woman and her dog in the past.

The neighbor asked for the dog to be removed from the home. Warren Dog Warden John Onatz was asked to remove the dog from the home due to its vicious nature, reports say.
