UNITED KINGDOM -- A five-year-old girl has been left terrified after she was pulled off her bike and bitten by a dog.
Casia Fox was riding at Slades Farm with her older brother Corey and her parents when she was chased by a miniature schnauzer dog that was not on a lead.
The dog, one of four being walked by one woman, jumped up at Casia, tore her dress and bit her bottom before pulling her off her bike.
She was taken to hospital and given antibiotics to prevent an infection and the incident has been reported to the police.
But her mother Katrina, 33, believes little will be done because the woman was walking multiple similar dogs and it will be impossible to confirm which one attacked her daughter.
Katrina, a music teacher of Moordown, said: “It is very frustrating – if she had allowed her dog to foul she could have received a fine but instead it bit my daughter and there’s very little that can be done.
“I would like to warn other parents who use the park to keep their children away from people walking multiple animals.
“This was not a playful nip, the dog was really quite aggressive and the lady was very dithery, it took her a long time to get the dog under control.
“Casia is okay now but she was very scared. We have since taken her back to the exact same spot and got her back on her bike because we didn’t want this to put her off cycling.
“But if the dog had bitten her face rather than her bottom, her life could have been ruined and yet it would still be very unlikely that the lady would be held accountable.”
Dorset Police confirmed they were investigating the incident and that no arrests had been made
