NEW YORK -- A 62-year-old man was charged Monday with animal cruelty. Police officers responding to a complaint found an elderly Chihuahua that was unable to walk because of leg trauma, police said. The dog, named Chi Chi, also suffered from a skin condition and poor nutrition.
Ciro Interrante was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony, and three misdemeanors.
He was arraigned and released on no bail.
