Woman recovering after attacked by dogs on the city's eastside

TEXAS -- A woman was attacked by three dogs in the 8000 block of Langport Tuesday around noon.

Neighbors said the dogs had caused problems before the incident. Animal Care Services is helping in the investigation and said they were able to identify the owner of the dogs.

The dogs broke through their fence while the woman was though an alley, according to neighbors. The three dogs are now under rabies quarantine and the owner was cited.

The woman is a mother and was returning from walking her child to school. She was bitten multiple times on her right arm and leg. Several people in the neighborhood heard the screaming and ran to help her.

One neighbor, Belinda Curtis, realized what was happening and called 911.

"I was inside. The husband and his friend were outside and then we ran to the backyard and they took her to inside her house. She was bleeding everywhere like her arm and leg. It's bad," Curtis said.

KENS 5 was not able to reach the owner of the dogs.
