Pit bull attacks child and sheriff's deputy

ALABAMA -- A child and sheriff's deputy went to the hospital after a dog attack in Marshall County.

The incident happened on Pearce Circle in Guntersville.

Investigators say the pit bull was roaming around the neighborhood and bit a 13-year-old. Upon response to the scene, sources said the same dog bit the deputy who was called to investigate. Both the deputy and the child are home from the hospital.

A local animal hospital euthanized the dog.
