Investigators said the home was a storefront for crack cocaine. They said they did several undercover deals there and were able to buy drugs from the people inside the home. On Wednesday morning, they decided to move in.
Officers arrested three people, two were taken immediately, and the third after a chase.
During the arrests, officers said the pit bull lunged at them and they were forced to open fire.
The owner denies there were any drugs on her property and said no one had the right to shoot her dog.
“The dog was just standing there. We always stop and put the dog on the chain,” Christina Stewart said. “No reason for them to shoot the dog just for a big scene. I heard 12 gunshots before I even came outside.”
Officers told a different story.
“The pit bull lunged toward the officers, breaking the chain and the collar, in which officers had to use force against the dog,” said Capt. Rick Grassi, Tomball Police Department. “The city of Tomball or the surrounding agencies have zero tolerance for drugs. We don’t condone this type of behavior, nor do we tolerate this type of behavior and we’re going to act on it.”
Police said the investigation is continuing and more arrests could be made.
