Raisa Arcis said she was walking her Chihuahua outside her Northwest 19th Terrace apartment when she said two pit bulls living next door squeezed their way underneath the fence and lunged at her dog.
Arcis' 4-year-old son heard the commotion and walked outside and into the path of danger. "My poor kid came out to see what was going on. He heard his mom screaming, and then he got attacked out of nowhere. There was blood everywhere. He was afraid, he sees me crying," said Arcis.
Arcis said she had to throw a rock at the dogs to make them stop attacking her son. Her son was taken to the hospital and received stitches to the head.
The dog owners refused to talk to 7News, but a relative spoke on their behalf. "They were throwing rocks at the dogs, the dogs got excited, crawled underneath the fence and bit the kid," said Marcus. "I feel really bad for the kid. Obviously, I'm gonna go on the kid's side instead of the dogs. They are animals, but the dogs are not violent."

Animal Control and police were on the scene. The dog owner has been fined $500 per dog because pit bulls are illegal in Miami-Dade County, and issued a $1,000 fine for the dog bite.
The dogs have been quarantined, but the owners will eventually have to give the dogs up to Animal Control.
