Deer saved by father-son duo

INDIANA -- A White County father and son are being called heroes for helping free a deer.

Charlie Anderson was fishing when he saw two bucks in the water, hooked together by their antlers.

Anderson and his son Adam attempted to separate the two animals. One of the deer was dead, but the other was unhurt. Anderson is glad they were able to free the deer.

"To have left them hooked and let nature take it's course, that animal probably wouldn't have died from being hooked from the other deer. He would've been eaten alive by the coyotes that are out here. It would've been really inhumane to let them go the way they were," said Anderson.

The father and son said if they see the deer while hunting, he'll get a free pass. At least for the next two years.
