Fire crews rescue horse with three of its legs stuck in a cattle grid

UNITED KINGDOM -- British firefighters have successfully rescued a horse that had three legs caught down a cattle grid.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue responded to the call to Hey Lane, Willaston, in Neston, shortly after 2.30pm on Tuesday.

They found the horse lying on its side, with three legs down the cattle grid

The service sent two fire crews, as well as its animal rescue unit, to free the animal.

The 14-hand horse was fully sedated by a vet and cutting gear was used on the metal grid to free his leg.

A sling was put under the horse and it was removed from the grid by firefighters.

Crews waited for the horse to come round from its sedation before leaving. The owner was also in attendance
