Five pit bulls attack, kills 4-year-old boy in White County

[What the hell is going on? One person after another is dying from attacks by pit bulls. It's almost as if the zombie apocalypse is coming. And yet, despite these deaths, we're still being inundated with stories of 'sweet pitties' which need to be adopted from shelters. No thanks.]

ARKANSAS -- Pit bulls attacked and killed a 4-year-old boy Friday afternoon.

The small child managed to get out of the home on Piker Road in Bradford and enter a fenced-in area where three dogs were being held just before 3:30 p.m. That's when he was attacked.

The child was transported to the White County Medical Center in Searcy, where he later died.

White County deputies took three dogs from the home, according to Chief Deputy Phillip Miller. He would not confirm what breed they were but they will be held until the investigation is done or 10 days - whichever is longer. The law requires dogs be quarantined for at least 10 days after biting a human.

At last check, police had not released the boy's name.

Two adults were at home at the time - the boy's mother and the pet owner. No word if the adults will be charged with a crime or if the dogs will be euthanized.

On KARK's Facebook page, a purported relative of the little boy posted:

Chelsea Watson - "It was 5 pits. That was my little brother. His mom left him outside with them and he got attacked. He was only 4. She said he had a cough and left him outside so her new grand baby didn't get sick. Which makes no sense because its already cold outside. She said it was only a minute but by the time she even noticed he was gone. Never in my life did I think my baby brother would be gone before me. But I guess he is now in better hands then what he was given too.

"It is the owners fault. Not the dogs. Its the owners that raise the dogs. Pits can be just as sweet as a little dog. Its how the owner raises them. I think my brothers brother should be at fault for this too. Like why would there be 5 pits inside a electric fence anyways in Bradford?!?! Obviously for some reason. And no matter what my brother shouldn't have been outside alone with 5 pits anyways. And with an electric fence around them. That looks all wrong in the first place. The family. Like myself and the ones that are actually all right in the head is taking this more serious and looking into it as much as we can."
