OHIO -- A letter carrier in Liberty was mauled while delivering the mail on Friday.
Photos of her injuries might be disturbing.
Kendra Morgan, a mother with two young sons, tells 21 News she feared she was going to be ripped apart and die after a dog attacked her.
Chunks of flesh were ripped from her arm and shoulder, her hands and breast were bitten. Morgan says she was told the dog was an American Pit Bull weighing about 200 pounds.
Morgan says as she was stepping off the porch she heard a 'bam', and the next thing she knew she was on the ground with the dog on top of her.
The mail carrier says she kept hoping the dog would not go for the back of her neck or head. As she was trying to knock him off, he went for her right shoulder.
Morgan says she understands pet owners have a right to own a dog, but emphasizes pet owners need to be responsible and secure their animals so mail carriers can provide a service and deliver the mail without being attacked.
Morgan may need surgery, is now terrified of dogs, can't drive her sons to their activities, or cook for her family. She fears what might have happened had children been trick or treating at that time.
