A judge told Ann Arnold (Anne-Marie C. Arnold, Ann-Marie Arnold) she couldn't have farm animals on her property after she was convicted of animal abuse. But on Monday November 4, Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy says his office received word that Ann Arnold, of Greenfield, became in possession of between six to ten horses this weekend.
Arnold is charged with violating her probation.
In 2011, Arnold had numerous horses removed from her property in Greenfield and in July 2012 was convicted of 19 counts of failing to provide food, water and sustenance to her horses and sentenced to three years' probation.
Then in November 2012 she violated that when she was found to have 17 more horses on her property.
She was sentenced to time served and continued her on probation once she admitted to the violation, submitted the mental health evaluation, became current on the restitution, and removed the horses from the premises.
Murphy says Arnold is current on the restitution and has paid a total amount of $2,600 by making monthly payments toward a total restitution amount of $7,468 to offset expenses incurred for caring for the horses during the criminal prosecution in 2012.
Note: Her brother Duane Carpenter was later charged with animal cruelty.
