OKC Man Arrested After Dead Dog Found In Yard

OKLAHOMA -- Neighbors called police after seeing a chained, dead dog in the backyard of a man's northwest Oklahoma City home.

An officer arrived at the house in the 500 block of N.W. 90th Street on October 30 and spoke with the homeowner, 53-year-old Frederick Jackson. Animal welfare personnel were also on the scene.

Animal welfare and the police officer went to the backyard of the house, where they found the dead dog with a chain still around its neck. The officer said it appeared the chain was too short to allow the dog to reach food and water.

The officer also reported it looked like the animal hadn't eaten in several days.

The officer arrested Jackson and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail for animal cruelty.
