Police Shoot Dog After he Charges at Officer

TEXAS -- An officer is forced to pull out his gun while responding to a dog bite call.

Police say around nine Saturday morning, a man called for help saying a dog tried to attack him while he was on a walk.
The man told the officers where the dog's owners live.

When officers try to talk with the owner, police say the pit bull charged at one of the cops. That officer pulled out his gun and shot the dog in the face. It laid down for a few minutes, then got up and ran away.

Officers were able to track the dog down and hold it until animal control arrived. Its owner was taken to jail for outstanding warrants. He was also cited for not having his dog on a leash. No one was seriously hurt.
