Pit bull owner arrested in St. Johns County

FLORIDA -- A Ponte Vedra woman was booked into jail and bonded out on Thursday.

A warrant was issued for Julie Shumer, 52, for charges relating to an attack involving her two pit bulls, according to the State Attorney's Office.

The State Attorney's office says Shumer's pit bulls attacked her neighbor, Kathy Doolittle, and Dolittle's 8-pound Pomeranian, Cassidy.

Cassidy died from her injuries and Dolittle suffered severe bites and a broken finger.
