Search Warrant Served At Residence of Subjects Convicted Of Animal Neglect

OREGON -- On Thursday, November 21, 2013 Beaverton Police Officers, Washington County Animal Control and Beaverton City Code Enforcement served a search warrant at 11775 SW 1th St. Beaverton Oregon and took possession of two female Pit Bull dogs.

The search warrant was in regards to the possession of dogs by individuals who had been convicted of animal neglect in 2012 and are not allowed to possess animals. In 2012 Beaverton Police Officers arrested four individuals from this residence after a report of several dogs being struck with a shovel.

There were 10 Pit Bulls removed from this residence at that time.


The Beaverton Police Department has responded to this address 54 times since December 15, 2012 on a variety of calls to include domestic disturbances, noise complainants, animal complainants and drug related calls.

At the time of the search warrant the property owner Stanford Evans 60 years of age was served with papers from Beaverton City Code Enforcement for violations of city building codes and having a dangerous building. This residence does not currently have power, water service or sanitary sewer service. The living conditions inside this residence are unsanitary and evidence of drug use was discovered.

Stanford Evans 60 was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on the charge of prohibition against possession of domestic animal.

Darlene Exendine 49 was arrested and will be lodged at the Washington County Jail on the charge of prohibition against possession of domestic animal.

Stephen Young 37 was arrested and will be lodged at the Washington County Jail on the charge of prohibition against possession of domestic animal.

There were three other occupants of this residence who were not held and left after the warrant service.

The two dogs will be taken to the Washington County Animal Shelter to be cared for and did not appear to have any injuries.
