TEXAS -- An 8-year-old girl was injured after a family dog bit her face several times Tuesday afternoon in north Fort Worth.
The incident is the third reported dog attack in less than two weeks in the city.
The girl was staying with family members when their dog attacked her at a home in the 2800 block of Hutchinson Street near 28th Street. She was transported to Cook Children’s Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The dog’s owner transferred ownership of the dog to Fort Worth Animal Care and Control, police said.
Fort Worth police shot and killed a dog Friday to stop it from attacking an 18-year-old man. Police fatally shot three pit bulls a few days before to stop an attack on a man and his daughter.
