OHIO -- A stranger saved a woman from a dog attack in Price Hill Friday.
"I was screaming and hollering and nobody answered. All of a sudden, I hear a gun shot," Tyan Winbush said.
Winbush was attacked by an American Bulldog mix as she walked down the street.
“I kind of gave him my arm so he could have something to gnaw on to take the attention away from my neck and face. If he would have gotten my neck I wouldn't be alive,” Winbush said.
Winbush recalled her experience.
“It felt like forever, just being there and yelling for help. Nobody came to help me. Then all of a sudden the shots went off,” Winbush said.
Those shots killed the dog.
The identity of the shooter is unknown, but the owner of the dog, Butch Beck, said he would have done the same thing.
"If I was that person I would have done the same thing. I'm not mad. I'm going to check on the victim and we will take it from there,” Beck said.
Beck said the dog is usually secured and not vicious.
“I can’t worry about the dog. My kids are taking it hard, but I have to worry about the victim and we'll move from there,” Beck said.
Winbush appreciated the help she received from the unidentified shooter.
“I appreciate him or her. At the time I felt like nobody was there to help me,” Winbush said.
Winbush remains at home recovering.
Animal control officials and police are continuing their investigation.
