TEXAS -- A woman in Jim Wells County says she needed help from the sheriff's department after she was attacked by her neighbor's dog, but help never came.
Sandra Burke says she was bitten by her neighbor's dog in January. She says she called 911 and was transferred to Animal Control, but three days went by and no one came.
Constable Jim Long caught wind of the situation and offered to help out. Since Animal Control falls under the sheriff's department, he says he is limited on what he can do.
At this point, Burke just wants a copy of the dog's vaccination records. Jim Wells Chief Deputy Ray Ramon says he's looked into the matter and the dog's owner claims he vaccinated the dog himself.
Together they're working on getting that proof to Burke.
