TEXAS -- A 5-year-old boy was playing in his yard when he was attacked by a neighbor’s pit bull Tuesday afternoon in West Oak Cliff.
Police responded around 5:30 p.m. to an injured person call on Barnett Avenue near Westmoreland Road. A pit bull that had gotten loose had bitten the boy on his leg above the knee, according to a police report.
A witness told police that the dog had bitten the boy once before. The boy was taken to Children’s Medical Center Dallas and required 12 stitches to close the wound, police said.
No other injuries were reported. Animal control officers are investigating the case.
